How to choose a real-estate agent
September 6, 2026
Ask about their recent deals in your area, how they communicate, and how they handle negotiation.
A good agent knows your target neighborhoods in detail, not just headline trends. Ask how many transactions they have closed nearby in the last year and what types of property.
Ask how they communicate and how often. You want someone who answers quickly and explains the process in plain language.
Ask how they approach negotiation and how they are paid, so there are no surprises. Talk to two or three before deciding — the right fit matters as much as the résumé.
On REM&A you can browse agents, see their listings and ratings, and message them directly.
